Skills

Rolling

d12 + modifiers

Each skill has a proficiency score between 0 and 8. Same for difficulty scale. The proficiency is added to a d12 roll to determine success (above difficulty [+ 10 if static, or roll])

The maximum proficiency each skill can reach with manually assigned points is +6. Bonuses awarded by classes, backgrounds and feats can go beyond +6, up to +8.

Advantage and Disadvantage

Some backgrounds, traits, buffs or debuffs can grant Advantage or Disadvantage on some rolls. This means that instead of rolling one dice, you would roll 2 and pick, respectively, the highest or lowest roll. This on average is equivalent to a +-2 to the roll.

If the roll includes more than one dice, only the d12 is rolled double, all other dice are rolled normally.
